Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently engaged with the nation through the widely popular ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, where he had an enlightening conversation with Drone Didi. During this interaction, PM Modi highlighted the significant discussions surrounding the Namo Didi drone across the country, emphasizing the remarkable role of women across various domains. Ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8th, PM Modi underscored the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the invaluable contributions of women towards the nation’s development, quoting the renowned poet Bharatiyar’s belief that the prosperity of the world hinges on providing equal opportunities to women.
This episode marked the 110th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ where PM Modi also announced a temporary halt to the program for the next three months due to the impending Lok Sabha elections in March, necessitating compliance with the election code of conduct.
In his address, PM Modi lauded the burgeoning progress of women empowerment in India, citing the widespread discussions surrounding the innovative ‘Drone Didi’ initiative, which is revolutionizing agricultural practices nationwide. He also addressed the environmental concerns, acknowledging the crucial role played by women in safeguarding the planet from the harmful effects of chemical substances, thereby preserving the mother earth.
Reflecting on the diversity of India, PM Modi highlighted individuals like Mohammad Manshah from Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir, who has been tirelessly working to preserve the Gojri language, and Banwang Losu from Tirap in Arunachal Pradesh, a dedicated teacher instrumental in promoting the Wancho language spoken across several northeastern states. PM Modi also acknowledged the efforts of numerous individuals, such as Venkappa Ambaji Sugetkar from Karnataka, who are passionately preserving their cultural heritage and language through traditional arts like songs and dances.
As ‘Mann Ki Baat’ takes a hiatus for the next three months, the spirit of unity, progress, and cultural preservation advocated by PM Modi resonates strongly, reminding us of the collective responsibility towards building a brighter and more inclusive future for India.
